Over the last several years Chris has been facilitating violence prevention workshops and trainings to students, faculty, and staff at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. He has a strong desire to help raise up the next generation of young men to discover their value and God given purpose in their family, work, community, and the world. Chris received his Masters in Social Work at the Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa in 2011. Chris’ most recent passion project has been woodworking. With limited tools and knowledge on how to work with wood, he went to the obvious place to learn – YouTube. Chris would spend hours upon hours on YouTube learning how to build small wood projects. He describes himself as a novice woodworker and doesn’t know where this passion is going to take him, but believes it could tie into his other passion of working with young men, who knows? In the meantime, he’s been enjoying this new creative journey.
